Frequently Asked Questions

Factor Support Network was founded by families with hemophilia. We are committed to providing a wide range of quality services to persons with hemophilia and the associated disorders.

 

 

DO YOU PROVIDE ALL FACTOR CONCENTRATES?

Yes, we do. We supply all brands of factor concentrate, based on availability. You can be assured we will provide the product of your choice in the size you prefer.
 

 

WHAT ARE YOUR CHARGES FOR THE VARIOUS PRODUCTS?

Charges for products are based on the AWP (Average Wholesale Price) of the product. The insurers today establish prices. Additionally, we negotiate with many insurance companies on an individual and contract basis. In most instances the actual charge is less than the AWP. Since we work with most insurers, we would be happy to discuss the allowable rates of your particular insurance carrier.
 

 

WHAT ARE YOUR CHARGES FOR ANCILLARY SUPPLIES?

All supplies needed for infusions are provided at no additional charge. See “Additional Services” section for a list of other items available.
 

 

HOW DO I GET SUPPLIES? WILL I HAVE TO PAY ANY DELIVERY CHARGES?

FSN will supply all of your infusion related supplies with your factor order.  There is no charge for these supplies.  Should you need additional supplies before your next factor order, we will ship them by FedEx within 3 days.
 

 

IF I NEED AN EMERGENCY DELIVERY, CAN I CONTACT YOU?

Yes. Our Pharmacists are always available to respond to your needs 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. After hours emergency situations are handled through our on call service. Notify the service of your emergency and they will connect you to our Pharmacist, Nurse or the company President.
 

 

CAN I GET MY SUPPLIES IF I TRAVEL FOR WORK OR GO ON VACATION?

Yes. FSN provides a convenient travel case for your factor concentrate and supplies. Should you require additional factor or supplies during an extended absence from home, FSN will deliver directly to the location needed via Federal Express within 24 hours.  Destinations outside the U.S. may take a bit longer. Simply call us with the address where you are staying and we will get the delivery to you.
 

 

HOW DOES FSN HANDLE REIMBURSEMENT FOR FACTOR CONCENTRATE?

FSN will prepare and submit all claims on your behalf.  If your insurance company reimburses you directly, we will arrange for the reimbursement to be directed to FSN.
 

 

HOW DO I DISPOSE OF THE NEEDLES?

FSN will provide you with variable sized Sharps containers for safe needle disposal. They will be on a mail returned service.
 

 

WILL I HAVE TO SIGN A CONTRACT WITH YOU?

No, a contract will not be required. Should you select us, we would initiate service upon your request. We believe that we must continue to earn your business, and therefore if at any time you should become dissatisfied with our service, you may terminate service immediately.
 

 

IF I REQUIRE NURSING SUPPORT WITH MY INFUSIONS, WILL YOU PROVIDE IT?

FSN has several nurses available to discuss your personalized care plan.  Should you require direct assistance with an infusion, we are partnered with a Nationwide Nursing Service and will arrange Home Health Care to assist you for infusion and teaching.  We also work closely with you and your treatment center regarding the nursing support you require.
 

 

CAN I GET ORAL MEDICATION FROM FSN?

Yes. Most oral medications can be provided and we will bill your insurance company directly. However, we do not carry any controlled substance due to Interstate Commerce Laws.
 

 

HOW CAN I FIND OUT MORE ABOUT FSN?

We would be more than glad to visit with you and your family to discuss our services. There is no obligation on your part and we will not follow up with telephone calls unless notified by you.
 

 

DOES FSN PROVIDE ANY SCHOLARSHIP ASSISTANCE TO THE HEMOPHILIA COMMUNITY?

Yes. FSN established a scholarship program in memory of founders Mike Hylton, Ron Niederman, and Millie Gonzales. The scholarships are available for persons with bleeding disorders and their immediate family members. It is intended for post-secondary education at a college, university, trade or technical school.
 

 

WHAT HAPPENS IN THE EVENT OF A RECALL?

As members of the Hemophilia Community, we realize the importance of expedient notification in the event of a recall. FSN has a system set up to contact you within 24 hours of any recall notice if we have dispensed the product to you.  We will utilize all available contact information to reach you 24 hours a day/ 7 days a week.  FSN will also replace the product as soon as possible and send you a Fed-Ex waybill to return the recalled product to us.  FDA regulation requires all recalled products be returned to the manufacturer to be destroyed.
 

 

DOES FSN CONTACT THEIR PATIENTS ABOUT NEW TREATMENTS?

When the manufacturers introduce a new product, one of our Sales Representatives will contact you directly.  We also include brochures and newsletters in orders as they become available.
 

 

HOW DO I ENROLL IN THE FSN PROGRAM?

You may contact us by calling our toll free number (877) 376-4968. Our Marketing Director, Sandy Deierhoi will assign one of our Client Services Representative’s in your area.  We can assure you a smooth transition with both your insurance company and current vendor.
